About the Community Crafts Fair
The Community Crafts Fair was born from a simple idea: bring local artisans and crafters together in a safe, caring environment and use that gathering to do real good in our community.
Founded and organized by Ruthe Sanborn, this annual event is held at Chapel in the Pines in Arnold, California a church known for its welcoming, serving, and loving spirit. The Crafts Fair is designed not only as a marketplace for handmade goods, but as an opportunity for neighbors to connect with one another and with Chapel in a way that feels natural and joyful.
Our Mission & Outreach Ministries
A portion of every vendor booth fee approximately 45% is donated directly to Chapel in the Pines outreach ministries. Vendors choose which ministry (or ministries) their donation supports.
Do-Wooders: The Do-Wooders ministry provides and delivers split firewood to community members who cannot afford or are unable to obtain it themselves completely free of charge. For families and seniors in the mountain communities, this can make a real difference through cold Sierra Nevada winters.
Food Closet: In partnership with the Resource Connection Food Bank, the Food Closet provides food to community members in need. Distribution takes place every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Benevolence: The Benevolence ministry offers emergency financial assistance to individuals and families facing a specific, urgent need a quiet but powerful expression of the church's commitment to loving and serving its neighbors.
